This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how Teamjects ("Teamjects," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards personal information when you access our website, platform, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). This Policy is intended to comply with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) ("GDPR"), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (collectively, the "CCPA"), and other applicable United States and international privacy laws. By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge and consent to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Account Information. Name, business email address, company name, job title, department, and role when you register for an account or accept an invitation to join a workspace.
  • Authentication Credentials. Encrypted passwords and, where applicable, tokens issued by third-party identity providers (e.g., Google) when you authenticate through single sign-on.
  • Workspace Content. Projects, tasks, goals, objectives and key results, performance data, check-in and check-out submissions, financial records, messages, and files that you and your colleagues create, upload, or otherwise submit through the Services.
  • Usage Data. Internet protocol address, browser type and version, device identifiers, time zone setting, operating system, and information about how you interact with the Services, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
  • Communications. Records of your correspondence with us, including support requests, feedback, and feature suggestions you submit through in-app tools.
  • Billing Information. Billing address and, where processed by our payment processor, payment instrument details. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We process personal information for the following lawful purposes:

  • To provide, operate, maintain, and improve the functionality and performance of the Services;
  • To create and administer accounts and workspaces, and to authenticate users;
  • To process transactions, issue invoices, and administer subscriptions;
  • To communicate with you regarding your account, security alerts, service changes, and administrative matters;
  • To monitor and analyze usage trends and to detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, and abuse;
  • To respond to feedback and feature requests; and
  • To comply with legal obligations and to enforce our Terms of Service.

Under the GDPR, the legal bases for our processing include: (a) performance of a contract with you or to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract; (b) compliance with legal obligations to which we are subject; (c) our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Services, where those interests are not overridden by your rights; and (d) your consent, where you have provided it, which you may withdraw at any time.

3. Lawful Bases for Processing (GDPR)

Where we process personal data of individuals located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases: Article 6(1)(b) (performance of a contract); Article 6(1)(c) (compliance with a legal obligation); Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interests); and Article 6(1)(a) (consent). Where processing is based on consent, you have the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.

4. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the rights described below under the CCPA, as amended by the CPRA. For purposes of the CCPA, "personal information" has the meaning given in California Civil Code Section 1798.140.

  • The Right to Know. You may request that we disclose: (i) the categories of personal information we have collected about you; (ii) the categories of sources from which the information was collected; (iii) the business or commercial purpose for collecting the information; and (iv) the categories of third parties to whom we disclose the information.
  • The Right to Delete. You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions permitted by law.
  • The Right to Correct. You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information maintained about you.
  • The Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. We do not engage in the "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Therefore, no opt-out is necessary; however, you may still submit a request using the contact information provided below.
  • The Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information. We do not collect or use sensitive personal information as defined by the CCPA beyond what is necessary to perform the Services or as permitted by law.
  • Non-Discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise these rights, submit a verifiable consumer request through our Contact Us page. We will confirm receipt within ten (10) business days and respond within forty-five (45) days, as permitted by California Civil Code Section 1798.130. Authorized agents may submit requests on behalf of a consumer with written permission; we may still require verification of the consumer's identity.

5. European Data Subject Rights (GDPR)

Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland have the following rights:

  • Right of Access. You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Rectification. You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"). You may request that we delete your personal data, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Right to Restrict Processing. You may request that we limit our processing of your data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to Data Portability. You may request a machine-readable copy of the personal data you provided to us, and you may transmit that data to another controller.
  • Right to Object. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests or carried out for direct marketing.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise these rights, contact us through our Contact Us page. If you believe we have not processed your personal data in accordance with applicable law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies (collectively, "cookies") to operate the Services, remember your preferences, measure traffic, and improve performance. Cookies are small data files stored on your device.

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies. These are required for the Services to function and cannot be disabled. They enable core features such as authentication and security.
  • Functional Cookies. These allow the Services to remember choices you make (such as your preferred language) to provide enhanced functionality.
  • Analytics Cookies. These allow us to understand how visitors interact with the Services so that we can measure and improve performance.

Under the GDPR, you must provide affirmative consent before we set non-essential cookies. Our cookie consent banner allows you to accept or reject non-essential cookies. Under the CCPA, cookies and similar technologies may constitute a "sale" or "share" of personal information as those terms are broadly defined; we do not sell or share personal information through cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may clear cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect the functionality of the Services.

7. How We Share Information

We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients:

  • Service Providers. Third parties that provide infrastructure, hosting, analytics, payment processing, email delivery, and customer support on our behalf, subject to contractual obligations of confidentiality.
  • Business Partners. At your direction, when you integrate the Services with third-party applications.
  • Legal Compliance. Where required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Teamjects, our users, or others.
  • Corporate Transactions. In connection with a merger, acquisition, asset sale, financing, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality safeguards.

8. International Data Transfers

Your personal information may be processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States. Where we transfer personal data from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland to a country that has not been deemed to provide an adequate level of protection, we do so pursuant to appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism recognized under applicable law.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. Workspace content is retained for the duration of your subscription and thereafter as configured in your workspace settings or as required to comply with legal obligations.

10. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to individuals under the age of sixteen (16), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected personal information from a child, please contact us through our Contact Us page and we will take steps to delete such information.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Policy on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated through the Services or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Services after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
